Its Spring! The pasture is starting to turn a wonderful shade of green and despite a very dry spring the grass is starting to grow. We are repairing any winter damage to the chicken shelters in preparation for the birds to go outside the first few weeks of May. The exact day that the birds go out changes year to year as it is entirely based on the weather forecast. We will not put the birds outside until the weather is warm enough overnight for the birds to be comfortable. The growing grass also means that soon the cattle will be moved off of their winter pasture and start moving every day onto fresh new grass. Currently they are still being fed organic hay in their winter pasture in order to give the grass a good head start.
